Historical Notes
The anonymous author of The Nottingham & Derby RailwayCompanion of 1839 (Nottingham: R. Allen) commented:-
"The beeston Station is situated three miles from Nottingham, and from its being a short trip and an agreeable walk, is much frequented in the summer months by persons who desire fresh air and recreation......
"The station is a very neat appropriate building, kep by Mr. Campbell, a truly trustworthy servant of the Company, and consists of an office, retiring room, kitchen, bedrooms &c., &c."

The current station building dates from 1847.
