Description of event

Families of all ages can get involved with a real life archaeological dig at the world-famous Nottingham Castle. In a fun-filled hour you'll be helping us to explore what happened to the site after the medieval castle was swept away after the English Civil War. You'll have the chance to have a dig in our trench, wash and identify finds, and sieve through the spoil looking for interesting artefacts. We'll also have colouring and activity sheets for really young budding archaeologists. Part of the Festival of Archaeology: http://www.archaeologyfestival.org.uk/events/2889 We have 15 places (adults or children) available per time slot. Due to high demand last year these must be booked in advance, on a first come first served basis. Children under 14 should be accompanied by an adult (who must also book a place) at all times. We ask that there is at least one adult for every two children in your group.
