Society News Update March 2014
By Marion Caunt
The society had an eventful and successful year in 2013, and 2014 is looking to be very interesting!
Archaeology Project
We are in the very early stages of planning a "Big Dig" in Radcliffe. A project group has been established and we are working on a Heritage Lottery Funding application, more updates as and when the project develops.
Our Archives
In 2013 we received many donations and artefacts, plus extensive research material, so the cataloguing that we started in 2103 is undergoing a serious revamp, new cabinets obtained and many new categories to input.
Of course we still welcome donations of items relating to Radcliffe and villages nearby, including documents, photographs, family history and family memories to add to our extensive collection. Please contact the society Archivist Marion Caunt on the contact details given at the end of this article if you have anything that you’d like to discuss.
When the cataloguing is completed we are hoping to hold open days later this year.
