Boarders at the Magnus Grammar School, Newark, c.1890s

Best uniforms included top hats and Eton collars for the living-in pupils. The school (which was estalished in the 16th century) first took boarders in c.1820 and ceased in 1932. NB the small boy (front right) is not a boarder, but Cyril Noakes, son of the school's Headmaster, E. Spencer Noakes (1894 - 1904)
