Rural Dean of Uttoxeter

From the Wiverton Parish newsletter, Jan/Feb 1983:-

"The Revd. Stuart Munns, who was born and brought up in Langar, has been appointed Rural Dean of Uttoxeter.

"During his earlier ministry in the Derby Docese he travelled abroad, studying youth work, inclusing the USSR where he observed the work of the Young Pioneers Organisation [illustrated].

"He worked for the early 1970s Churches and Government Scheme to provide work experience for young jobless school-leavers, for which he was awarded the OBE.

"Mr. Munn's aunt, Mrs. Olive Pearse, attended the service in St.Mary's, Uttoxeter, with Mr. & Mrs. Aplin and Mr. & Mrs. G. Lewis, on 10th December [1982]".
