Balderton's parish church of St.Giles

Some descriptions of the village from early county histories and guide books

"Balderton has nothing to attract the traveller except its interesting Church of St.Giles, which retains a Norman north porch, reconstructed in the 13th century, and a south doorway.

"The inner north doorway, with its beautiful 15th century wooden inscribed door, belongs to the 13th century at which time the north side of the nave and most of the windows of the cancel were built....

"There are some large engineering works where 500 men are employed".
