- To enable learners to discuss and research their community and family.
- For learners to develop their knowledge of the local history of Newark.

Programme objectives:
- As a team the learners will design and create a display about Newark.
- The learners will be able to discuss some knowledge of the local history of Newark.
- Learners will research the stories and history of Newark town.
- Learners will use speaking and listening skills to share their findings and discuss their research.
- Learner will use basic IT skills to take photographs, research ancestors and type stories.

Ground rules, course outline, demonstrate story boxes; families decorate their story box, use mobile phones or issue families with two disposable cameras.
Home Activity
Families to collect any Newark stories for next week.
