This building was demolished soon after these photos were taken in 1966, as part of the development of The Square and Precinct.  It was designed by the architect C N Holloway and constructed in 1901/2 by a local builder, Enoch Hind, at a cost of £2367.  It was a successor to the first bank in Beeston, the Nottingham Joint Stock Bank, established on the High Road by J T Byng in 1883 and which merged with the Midland Bank in November 1905.  The present Midland Bank building was designed by Haseldine & Eales of Nottingham and built by the local builder, J H Brough & Co.  It opened in 1967.
