Blooming Beautiful
Crocuses in the Meadows
This is a picture donated to us by Mrs Hampton from Sherwood. It is a picture of Meadows crocus blooming in her garden.
She told us the story of how her son David was searching for old bottles with Dennis McCarthy at the time of the demolition, and a Council workman discovered a sink full of the bulbs. Her son took a large clump to his mum who planted them in her garden. They are now seen not only in her garden, but also in the window boxes of her neighbours.
She is all willing to let the Meadows have back some of these bulbs so that we can grow them in the Meadows and see them multiply as these in the picture have evidently done.
