Queen's Walk follows an ancient pathway that ran from the River Trent ferry crossing at Wilford into the centre of Nottingham.
In early times it crossed wet and boggy ground - it's route marked by white posts.
The path was laid out formally in 1850 and named Queen's Walk in commemoration of Queen Victoria's visit to Nottingham in 1843.
In 1927, when the walkway was opened to traffic, the name was changed to Queen's Drive but reverted to its orignal name following the redevelopment of the area in the 1970s and 1980s.
In more recent times Victorian housing was demolished and replaced with a mixture of houses and flats.
