The Queen's Walk Community Centre was formerly the Central Railway Goods Office.
Although there is no datestone on the building, it is believed to have opened in 1901 to coincide with the opening of the railway sidings behind it which bore the same name.
The map below, dated c.1915 shows the site of the goods yards and the location of the Goods Office - next to the church (top of Queen's Walk, on the right).
