Fords Shop, Beeston

Fords shop on Station Road in Beeston (they had another branch on the High Road) was a place where you could find a wide variety of items for sale at reasonable prices --- a real cornucopia. Children were happy to accompany parents in this bazaar as there were always small toys, books and items of stationery that could be purchased with pocket money. Adults would buy clothes, household items, Christmas decorations and goods that could not be found in other establishments. Invariably, having popped in for a specific requirement, one would leave with an extra baragin or two!
